MTV Exclusively Reveals 5 New ‘Ender’s Game’ Stills

    Ender-Finale

MTV has just released 5 new Ender’s Game stills including Ender in his final battle (with Alai, Petra, and Bean!) and the teachers behind him. See all five images below!

They’ve also included bits and pieces of storyline for us to obsess over.

In his new post with the Salamander Army, Ender meets Petra (Hailee Steinfeld), one of the only girl enlistees. The two begin training together, with Petra serving as a sort of mentor to young Ender. Later, when Ender is given his own command over Dragon Army (which it appears we see here), Petra is among his troops, and he relies heavily on her expertise in the computer-simulated exercises meant to replicate war against the Buggers.

Thanks to Ender News for the tip!

VIDEO: Harrison Ford and Bob Orci with Josh Horowitz

Since I cover The Hunger Games, I end up watching a lot of videos of MTV’s Josh Horowitz, who is a fantastically hilarious nerd. When I heard he’d done an interview with Harrison Ford I knew immediately it would be good, but I had no idea it would be 20 minutes long. Watch the entire hysterically funny video of Josh interviewing Harrison Ford and Bob Orci of Ender’s Game below. It’s got weird things called telephones, nerd quizzes, and Harrison’s thoughts on the con.

In case the video above doesn’t work, HERE is a write-up of it by Josh Horowitz. It lacks most of the giggling, but the content is there.

  • Vote for ‘Ender’s Game’ in MTV’s 2013 Movie Brawl

Vote for ‘Ender’s Game’ in MTV’s 2013 Movie Brawl

It’s 2013 and MTV has officially started the initial voting round for their 2013 Movie Brawl. You can vote multiple times for all your favorite movies (and over and over). Ender’s Game is on their list of 40 exciting movies coming out in 2013, so be sure to go vote and help get the movie into the next round of 16.

Voting in this first round ends on January 14. After that, there will be brackets for the movies to face off and eventually one will emerge as the winner!

Just to warn folks, movies with the most dedicated fans tend to come out on top. For example, I think Cosmopolis won last year based solely on the fact that the Robert Pattison fans descended on the poll and boosted it up to win. Still, it would be fun to see Ender’s Game in the brackets! It’s currently ranked 26, so go vote here!

MTV’s Josh Horowitz Talks ‘Ender’s Game’ with Bobby Cohen

MTV’s Josh Horowitz recently caught up with film producer Bobby Cohen, who is working with Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Ortiz on Ender’s Game and got him to talk a bit about the set.

“There is a NASA stage where they literally used to build the rockets for the space shuttle that is now actually a sound stage,” he said. “They will be spending 65 some odd days about 45 minutes from here on a big giant set. So that’s going well.”

  • ‘Ender’s Game’ Production Nearing Halfpoint

    ‘Ender’s Game’ Production Nearing Halfpoint

    Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci

In a recent interview with producer Alex Kurtzman, MTV’s Kara Warner took the opportunity to inquire about his work on Ender’s Game.

“I’m really proud of the work everybody’s done on ‘Ender’s.’ Particularly because it’s a very complicated sprawling book that a lot of people have tried for a very long time to figure out how to make,” Kurtzman told MTV.

We already know that big changes are in order for the film, which has cast now 15 year-old Asa Butterfield as the young Ender Wiggin, who is actually only six when he’s shipped off to Battle School in the books. However, Kurtzman says he’s pleased with what director Gavin Hood has done with the script, saying that Hood had “in a miraculous way […] managed to distill down the essence of the book and the big moves to a very understandable clear format.”

Kurtzman also comment about where they are in the production schedule. “We’re about halfway through it, maybe close to halfway but it’s been a wonderful shoot so far.”

With tweets from the young cast continuing to pour out about their bonding on and off set, it does sound like things are going smoothly!

Ender’s Game is set to hit theaters in March 2013.
