Lionsgate/Summit has issued a press release announcing a unique opportunity for Ender’s Game fans to order custom 3D replicas of various ships from the Ender’s Game movie.

For the First Time Fans Will Be Able To Customize and Print Their Own 3D Replicas From Summit Entertainment’s ENDER’S GAME

App by Sandboxr Available for Download Prior to Theatrical Release

Salt Lake City, Utah, October 29, 2013 – Sandboxr, a 3D print and software development company from Utah, announced today its 3D print creation app for Summit Entertainment’s ENDER’S GAME.  Sandboxr’s 3D print creation app has been in development for the past two years, and through the ENDER’S GAME-licensed version, fans will be able to create and bring home exclusive replica battleships from the film generated by cutting-edge three-dimensional printing technology.  Fans will be able to check out the ENDER’S GAME 3D printing experience at Sandboxr.combefore Thursday’s release of the movie in theatres and IMAX October 31 at 8pm. Summit Entertainment is a LIONSGATE® (NYSE: LGF) company.

Nancy Kirkpatrick, Summit’s President of Worldwide Marketing, said, “This is the first 3D experience of this type to coincide with a major cinematic movie release, and Summit is excited to work with Sandboxr to offer this amazing experience and great new technology to our ENDER’S GAME fans.”

At Sandboxr.com, fans of ENDER’S GAME will be able to enjoy an interactive product experience that extends their engagement with the film and that they can access from their computer. Fans can choose from a selection of CG images from the movie studio file archives and bring home their own ENDER’S GAME 3D printed spacecraft and accessories.

“With an experience as sophisticated as Sandboxr’s, the challenge is to make it easy to use by the average guy or girl.  3D experiences are typically exclusive to tech savvy makers and designers.   However, we’ve worked hard to make a 3D printing experience that is accessible in a meaningful way to everyone. Bringing 3D design and print technology into the hands of the ENDER’S GAME fans is a thrilling opportunity for us at Sandboxr,” says Berkley Frei, Sandboxr CEO.

To experience the app for yourself log onto sandboxr.com and follow the links to ENDER’S GAME.

I headed over to Sandboxr to take a look at their app and it’s pretty cool. Once you install it, you can customize your printing by choosing a base.

    Sandboxr1

Once you add parts to your Parts List (add a base and a ship), you can move on to Color.

    Sandboxr2

Once on the color screen you can choose the army logo you want on the base and set all the colors of the base for various parts.

    Sandboxr3

Once you’ve set everything how you want it, you go to Print, where you place your order. The site says to allow 3-6 weeks for printing and delivery.

‘Ender’s Game: Battle School’ Board Game: Hi-Res Image

Last week we told you about Ender’s Game: Battle School, a board game to be released by Cryptozoic. Now we have a hi-res version of the image Cryptozoic is using to advertise their new game. You can even read the words on the cards! Click the image for the hi-res version.

In case you don’t remember, here is the description of the game again:

Ender’s Game: Battle School is a two-player game set in the zero-gravity arena of the International Fleet’s Battle School.  Players take the role of either Ender Wiggin and the Dragon Team or Bonzo Madrid and the Salamander Team, and then use Commander cards with special abilities (some for the whole team, some that only help the commander) to attempt to capture the other team’s gates or freeze opposing team players with laser-light guns.  The player who completes either of the goals first (capturing all the gates or freezing the opposing commander) wins.

Funko to Release Ender and Petra Pop! Vinyl Figures

As the days tick down to the release of Ender’s Game, we’ll start to see more merchandise being released. One thing we can look forward to are Pop! Vinyl figures from Funko for Ender and Petra.

Thanks to a tip from EnderWiggin.net reader Bruna, we found pre-order pages for the Ender and Petra figures on Entertainment Earth. If you’re not sure what they are by name, you might recognize them from the photo below.

No photos are yet available for the Ender’s Game figures, but we’ll keep an eye out for you Launchies! Funko sells their figures on Amazon, so they’ll probably eventually show up there.

Hopefully it’s not just Ender and Petra! A Bean figure would probably do well and surely they’ll do one for Graff/Harrison Ford, no?

  • Dragon Shirts Added to EnderNet Cafepress Store

Dragon Shirts Added to EnderNet Cafepress Store

As some of you are aware, I’m hoping to show up at Comic Con wearing a Battle School uniform. Sure, I’m way past the ripe age of recruitment, but it’s all in fun and what better fun is there to have hanging out in that epic Ender’s Game Experience wearing a Battle School outfit?

Part of the costume involves getting my hands on a bright orange t-shirt. And rather than just go down to Target to get one, I decided to get one from Cafepress. At first I was going to buy the THIRD shirt, but then thought it’d be funnier if I made a Dragon related one.

    Dragon

If you’re not sure about the reference, it’s a modification of the jeering calls made when Dragon Army shows up late to battle. The army waiting inside began to call, “Your ass is draggin’! Your ass is Dragon!”

The shirt is available in both Men’s and Women’s sizes.

  • Father’s Day Gift Idea: ‘Ender’s Game’ Apron

Father’s Day Gift Idea: ‘Ender’s Game’ Apron

After my failed attempt at getting you guys some free bumper stickers yesterday, I decided to just start up a full blown CafePress store for the site. You can now visit http://www.cafepress.com/endernet and browse various items featuring the EnderWiggin.net logo. (don’t worry, it’s just the logo, not the site name)

If you’ve got a dad who is 1) a big Ender’s Game fan and 2) the resident griller, then I’ve got a particular item that might be of interest to you for Father’s Day, coming up in just 10 days!

    Grill

Yes, that’s an apron with a silly take on the famous Ender’s Game tagline, “The enemy’s GRILL is down”, and a flaming EnderWiggin.net logo. You can buy one from CafePress for just $22.99 plus shipping.

If you’d like a closer look at the design, here it is below:

    The-Enemys-Grill

I realize it doesn’t actually make sense, but hopefully it brings a smile to your face anyway. 😀

  • Ender’s Game Production Jackets

    Ender’s Game Production Jackets

Cast members have been tweeting about receiving their Ender’s Game production jackets and stand-in Kelvin Harrison posted a photo of his (above). Looks like a cool jacket and hopefully we get to see something similar for sale next year when they begin marketing the movie.

While the font and logo shown was used for production purposes and also for the promo poster seen at the Licensing Expo, that may still change once they begin releasing things for the movie at an official capacity.

That just makes this one that much more awesome and collectible, though!

Suraj Partha took a photo of a keychain with a dragon on it and the caption “Dragon Army”, though it’s not clearly whether this is actually the Dragon Army logo. It most likely is not, as I’d imagine he’d get in a bit of trouble for posting something like that.

Very nice keychain regardless! These photos have been added to the Cast Photos gallery.
