Bean Question
« on: October 06, 2012, 02:07:21 PM »
Just finished "Shadow of the Hegemon" and "Shadows in Flight" and I'm afraid reading this series out of order has me a little confused. How did Bean know the last Formic battle was real and not a simulation? He is apparently the only Battle School kid who did. Did someone tell him or did he simply figure it out? Probably covered in one of the books I leapfrogged. Or maybe I simply missed it in one of the ones I did read. Anyone know?
As a naval officer I abhor the implication that the Royal Navy is a haven for cannibalism. It is well known that we now have the problem relatively under control.

He figured it out during the simulations in Ender's Shadow. He actually was threatened by the teachers because of it.

The chronological order of the Shadow series is: Ender's Shadow, Shadow of the Hegemon, Shadow Puppets, Shadow of the Giant, and Shadows in Flight, with Shadows Alive in the works. This set should definitely be read in this particular order!
