New Stills and Behind-the-Scenes Images from ‘Ender’s Game’

    ENDER'S GAME

Thanks to Cosmic Book News (via Ender News), we’ve got a great first look at Bonzo and Ender facing off. We’ve all noted and discussed the noticeable height difference between Moises Arias (Bonzo) and Asa Butterfield (Ender) in the past, and this still gives us some insight into why despite that difference, Gavin Hood chose Arias to be Ender’s nemesis in Battle School. Petra standing there seems a bit odd, though.

New photo of Viola Davis as Major Gwen Anderson. Is she smiling at something Ender’s said to Graff, perhaps?

    ENDER'S GAME

This one is particularly interesting, as you can see looks of sadness on Bean and Petra and Graff happily explains something to a troubled Ender. Is this the reveal in the end?

VIDEO: Ender’s Game Clip ‘Nothing Left at All’

Clip #5 shows us the moral argument between Graff and Anderson as he attempts to tell her she can’t resign from Battle School. In the calender, we find out that Anderson resigns her position after the shower incident.

VIDEO: Ender’s Game Command School Ice Battle

In this third clip from Ender’s Game, we get to see more of the ice battle, interspersed with a conversation between Graff and Anderson.

I found this one to be a little strange. Particularly, why are Anderson and Graff sitting next to each other, then suddenly in the next shot they’re sitting across each other? And why is Anderson at Command School when the calendar told us something else? Do you think they bring her there to evaluate his mental capacity to begin actual battles?

Remember, in the book Ender trains for a bit alone before the actual transition to real battles, so perhaps this is before that point. Thoughts?

This is also the first time we hear from Bernard! And looks like we now know that the big “NOW!” is from this battle, not the final battle!

  • Viola Davis Joins ‘Ender’s Game’

    Viola Davis Joins ‘Ender’s Game’

Viola Davis, the actress who was recently nominated for Best Actress in a Leading Role for her performance as Aibileen in The Help, has officially joined the cast of Ender’s Game. Davis has signed on to play a psychologist at the Battle School who monitors their mental health and designs the games that they play while attending the school.

Davis has had a successful career in both movies and television, having played a recurring character on the show Law & Order: SVU and she received a Best Supporting Actress nomination at the Academy Awards in 2008 for her role as Mrs. Miller in Doubt.

What do you guys think? Will she be a villain type doctor or will she be one of the few adults sympathetic to Ender’s predicament behind the scenes?
