I gotta say, it’s very frustrating that all these sweepstakes are US only. It wouldn’t be so bad if we had our own, but as it is, the movie is out next week, and not a single chance to win anything even remotely EG related in sight around here.
Still, the vid rocks. Oh man, this movie looks great. I’m gonna be very disappointed if the storytelling doesn’t keep up with the visuals.

Where are you located? If you are in France, England or Germany, then I believe that you have had more than what the US has been receiving, in the case of marketing and merchandise!

Then you believe wrong. I live in Germany, and all we got was
        – the laser tag challenge at GamesCom (you had to sign up with a group, and you had to pay the regular fee – so it was like ComicCon, only without the stars and with much less stuff you could get – no pins, tags or bags; just a soft drink)
        – a website (with less information than the US site)
        – a facebook site (with less information than the fansites)
        – the cinematic trailers (note: movie theaters are still showing the very first trailer, not the current final one, with most movies)
There are no TV spots, there was one interview on TV (and one clip), no press interviews or photo sets, no sweepstakes, contests or giveaways of any kind, and nowhere you could win merchandise. Heck, you can’t even buy merchandise here just yet (the calendar can be bought from tomorrow; the making-of book is out AFTER the movie; posters, figurines etc. aren’t yet available).

I do get to see the movie earlier than people in the US, but that is about the only thing. I don’t think that qualifies as “more than what the US has been receiving, in case of marketing and merchandise.” I’m curious, though: What gave you the impression? Maybe you have heard of things that I haven’t heard of?

It’s just that shipping costs are much higher if you ship internationally, as the person who runs this site is located in the US.

Actually, I’m pretty sure it’s for legal reasons, not shipping.

I’m in the same boat as you. Their sweeps excludes Hawaii.
